If you saw the strap repair in the last blog you’ll notice it’s quite thin (3/4″) and my father wanted some padding on it. So I threw together a quick pad while I had the strap off, I used some blue leather we had laying around that you’ve seen in other projects and some of the same foam I threw in the sandals for comfort. It worked great.
Cut the leather and the foam, put the necessary holes in it
Glue the foam to the bottom piece
Stitch the top piece on and trim the edges to even them out a bit. I should mention I left extra leather on top so it would compress nicely on the sides as it stitched hence why it needed to be trimmed.
Put it on the strap and put the strap on the bag.
